The Start of my Fitness Journey!

Hi!

It is currently 20:00 on a friday night, and after lying in bed all day, lacking any motivation to do anything, I have decided to start a fitness journey.

Why have I decided to start?
I've decided to finally start my "fitness journey" because I want to be happier. Whilst I know that weight loss isn't the source of happiness, I truly believe that I would be in a better place mentally if I was fitter. For my entire life, I have struggled with my weight, I always was the chubbier one in friendship groups, and I ended up developing an eating disorder around the age of 11. This sucked. But it's going to be different this time. This time, I'm going to lose weight for me, and for my health.

What do I aim to achieve?
Obviously, I want to lose weight. However, I want to get a lot fitter, it would be nice to walk to university without sweating buckets. This is also a perfect time to learn how to cook properly. I'm currently a vegetarian but have cut out dairy to the point where I'm basically vegan. I eat a lot of pasta which I don't want to be doing anymore. I want to eat more veg and learn how to cook good, nutritious meals.

How am I going to do it?
For the first week, I'm going to mainly focus on food, and my eating habits. I'm going to commit to intermittent fasting, which I have done before so I know I can do it. I often overeat in the evenings, so I'm going to slim that down until I don't feel the need to do that anymore. Once I have created a habit of eating well, I will focus more on exercising. As I'm a student, I currently can't afford to join the gym, however, I'm going to be following different fitness youtubers, like blogilates and madfit, and follow their videos. I'm also going to be doing the couch to 5k challenge. This way, I'm getting in my cardio and workouts that will tone my body.

This is what my body currently looks like. I don't have any scales here at uni but I currently weigh around 175 pounds. I have already started to lose a bit of weight at whilst being at uni because I have been a lot more active.

I'll be blogging *hopefully* every day, depending on how much uni work I have, and what my schedule is like for the day. I will be posting what I eat every day, and what exercise I've done that day. I hope you enjoy following my journey!
